Purpose of the program
----------------------
This all-graphic (GUI) program is an electronic guide to William
Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The guide includes the
complete text of the play, extensive introductory and supplementary
material, a thorough glossary, comments, variant readings, a quiz
and over eighty illustrations. The program provides the capability
to display the text of the play in several different fonts and
formats, search for all occurrences of specified words, and append
additional notes. Sections are included on the play, Elizabethan
theaters, language, text, critical comments, possible sources,
editors, dates, Shakespeare's times, a collection of famous
Shakespearean quotes and an introduction to "The Tempest".

Requirements
------------
IBM-compatible PC, 640K, an EGA or VGA monitor, MS-DOS or
Windows, and approximately 1.6 megabytes of disk space.
A mouse is optional.

To Install
----------
. Insert disk in drive A.
. If you received this program on a distribution disk from Quarto
Software (or a copy thereof), simply do the following:
For MS-DOS...
At the C\> prompt, type.. a:
At the A\> prompt, type.. install
For Windows...
From the Program Manager,
Choose File (Alt-F)
Choose Run (R)
then type.. a:install
Either method will create a directory named "SG" on the hard drive
(C:) and expand all files into that directory.
. If you received this program as a PKZIP file (i.e. with a .ZIP
extension on the file name), PKZIP 2.04 (or higher) will be required
to unzip the file. It is recommended that the unzip be done into
a directory named "SG".

To Run the Program under MS-DOS
-------------------------------
At the C\> prompt, type.. cd\sg
At the C\SG> prompt, type.. sg

To Add as an Icon under Windows
-------------------------------
From the Program Manager, choose:
File (Alt-F)
New (N)
Program Group (G)
OK (Return)
for the Description, type.. Study Guide
for the Group File, type.. \sg\sg.grp
OK (Return)

To Run the Program under Windows
--------------------------------
Double click on the icon.
------------------------
To Uninstall the Program
------------------------
When you have finished using the program, you can remove it from
your hard drive by doing the following...
If you added the icon under Windows, first single click on the
Shakespeare icon. Once the program description is highlighted, press
the delete key and respond "YES" (Y) to the deletion message. After
this is done, press the delete key again to delete the program group
and once again respond "YES" (Y) to the deletion message. If you did
not install under Windows or did not add the icon to the Program
Manager, omit this step.
To complete the uninstall, delete the directory "SG" and all its
files from the hard drive. You can do this in one of two ways:
For MS-DOS...
At the C\> prompt, type.. cd\sg
At the C\SG> prompt, type.. del *.*
** WARNING ** make certain you are in the "SG" directory.
Respond "Y" to the warning message about deleting all the
files in the directory, then...
At the C\SG> prompt, type.. cd\
At the C\ prompt, type.. rd\sg
For Windows...
From the Program Manager,
Double click on the "File Manager" filing cabinet icon.
Single click on the "SG" directory on the left side of
the display.
** WARNING ** make certain you have the "SG" directory
name highlighted then choose:
File (Alt-F)
Delete (D)
OK (Return)
Yes to All (A)
Yes to All (A)
